I was one of those that went to bed with makeup on. I really didn’t think it mattered. It happens every now and again, still, when I am exhausted. I didn’t moisturize unless I had a sunburn. I was never concerned about soft skin or why it was important.

As I entered my 40’s, I started realizing the potential harm of chemicals on my skin, so I started using a highly popular plant-based product line.

I wanted to hide the bag when I got home out of guilt for how much I spent. I didn’t need all 6 steps for my face, so I would get 3 and not feel horrible. Plus I was getting reward point, right? …. for the products I didn’t think I needed!

After I moved to the country and decided the sheep needed me to be home, I looked for an alternative. I treated myself to a couple of hours at a book store and a great cup of coffee. This is where I came across a book on how to make your own beauty products. That was it. I would try my hand at doing this. In the half of day travel the mall to buy my products, I could actually make my own. So, there it all began….
A few more good cups of coffee and I started to get an understanding of how I was supposed to be taking care of my skin and why. I was a bit fascinated. I was raised on Ivory Soap, which my Mom at 89 still uses! Am not sure, but I don’t think anything could leave your skin tighter and dryer! That is what clean is, right? Getting rid of all the oil and dirt on your skin was the point, and it was squeaky clean, so I thought.
The first recipe I decided to make was Cold Cream. I had heard of it, sounded practical, so – okay. I collected the necessary ingredients, followed the basic recipe and there it was. I had a few more tries, but in theory, there it was.
When I used it the very first time, I was very impressed at how it removed ALL my makeup, even mascara, which I no longer wear.

But I didn’t get that tight, clean feeling of Ivory.

I wasn’t convinced until the next morning. My face was so soft! OMG soft! I couldn’t wait for my daughter to try this; she has become my Guinea pig. She had the same response. After her first try, she wasn’t thrilled. The next morning, she called and she was like, OMG! I said “I know, right?!” So, it began, the sharing and making for others.

Cold Cream is how I wash my face. It takes off my makeup (even the waterproof kind) and it is my moisturizer. All in one jar!!!

Cold Cream is a very basic and rich oil, wax and water recipe. It is an all in one amazing product. Cold Cream is how I wash my face. It takes off my makeup (even the waterproof kind) and it is my moisturizer. All in one jar!!!
I place a small, dime size dollop on my fingers of this white fluffy and plump goodness, then rub it gently all over my face and neck (even in my eyelashes). I then take a soft cloth or tissue to gently remove all the dirt and oil from my day. And, I follow with a warm wash cloth to finish my face and steam in the oil and beeswax. That’s it!
Cold Cream just glides on and is so luscious. The rich elegance of how Cold Cream feels is something magical. I feel loved, pampered, relaxed, ready for that true downshift at the end of the day. It melts away my stress and I feel so cared for. It is the perfect closing of my day and I look so forward to it.
